My Journey

The Origin Story

What began as a personal journey transformed into FindingLife, an experiential learning program designed to inspire, empower, and educate students through real-world adventures.

MY JOURNEY

Navigate 20 years of work and expeditions, from the world’s highest peaks to classrooms, film sets and humanitarian missions.

Everest – The Hard Way

In 2025, to mark 20 years of working in high-altitude environments, I undertook an unsupported ascent of Mt. Everest without supplemental oxygen.

Carstensz Pyramid

Reached the summit of Carstensz Pyramid on the island of New Guinea – one of the Seven Summits.

Everest – Special Operation

Phase 1 of an exciting in-development new production was successfully implemented on Mt. Everest during the 2023 season. I managed to fly my drone from 8700m above sea level and capture 8K content along the way.

FindingLife Journeys on Kilimanjaro

Twelve adventurers from around the world joined the expedition, including PK Sherpa, supported by an extraordinary local Tanzanian team of porters, guides, and cooks.

Mariam’s Return to Kilimanjaro

In 2024, I organized and led a FindingLife Journeys expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro, centered on my friend and longtime collaborator Mariam Staford Bandaba. It was a return to the mountain, and another chance at its summit.

Everest – The IMAX Project

Pitched and presented a pilot at GSCA in 2024 for an IMAX feature developed with acclaimed giant-screen filmmaker Michael Dalton Smith. Images acquired in 8K, drone footage in 5K. Featuring Tendi Sherpa.

Everest Summit #5

On assignment to the top of the world, once again. Summited my fifth Everest alongside Kenton Cool and his client, shooting an online web series along the way.

Return to K2 Basecamp

Returned to K2 basecamp with John Snorri’s family, supported by many in Pakistan, including the Pakistan Army and the Fearless 5 high-altitude pilots. We were even received by the President.

K2 – A Promise Kept

K2 asked everything of us. We reached the climbers the mountain had taken and documented what we found. Then, near Camp 4 at 8,000 metres, we stood with Sajid as he laid his father, Ali Sadpara, to rest. A promise made in winter, kept in summer.

K2 – Where they may have stood

I funded the expedition and co-led it on the mountain with IFMGA guide Pasang Kaji (PK) Sherpa, filming every step. We stood on the summit with Sajid, but the summit was never the point. The hard part was why we were there: high on the world’s most dangerous mountain, searching for the place where three climbers may last have stood – gathering the interviews and evidence to piece together the full picture, for the families and for the public. As of 2026, not all of those facts have been made public.
